Nominations for the Executive Development Programme for Women in Tourism

The National Department of Tourism hereby invites nominations of suitably qualified and experienced individuals in the Tourism Value Chain to enrol for the Executive Development Programme course targeted at advancing and empowering black women managers in the tourism sector.
The programme will run for a period of 12 months based on the model that South African business schools use to training working students to allow them time to also continue with their work while studying.... Tuition fee and other study materials for the programme will be covered 100% by the National Department of Tourism. Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates will be conferred with a certificate in Executive Development Programme, which is aligned to National Qualification Framework (NQF) level 8. Candidates will be responsible for their transport and accommodation during the two study schools, which is 5 days in first semester and another 5 days in the second semester.

Admission Criteria

  • NQF 6 or 7 level qualification (National Diploma, B-Tech or B-degree)
  • NQF level 6 + 5 years middle to senior managerial position experience (preference will be given to candidates working in tourism, hospitality and conservation)
  • NQF level 7 + 3 years middle to senior managerial position experience (preference will be given to
  • candidates working in tourism, hospitality and conservation)
  • Candidates must be South African citizens and black women.
  • Nomination letter from the employer (institution/ organisation)
  • A detailed CV of the nominee;
  • Certified copies of ID and qualifications of the nominee.
  • All qualifications must be CHE accredited and SAQA registered qualifications.
  • Transcripts in case of incomplete qualifications
